Website Design in Wellington, Built in 7 Days
Media Giant designs and builds fast websites for Wellington small businesses from our office in Lower Hutt. Real photography, written copy and a fixed price from $250 a month ex GST, with nothing upfront.
Wellington web designers who come to you.
Most website design in Wellington is still sold the old way: a quote somewhere between $5,000 and $15,000, a few months of waiting, then a retainer every time you want a phone number changed. Media Giant builds the same quality of site a different way, and charges for it differently.
AI assembles the structure, pages and first-draft copy in hours. Then Andy, Ryan and the team rework the design, the words and the SEO by hand, and nothing goes live until you have signed it off. That split is why a website is built in 7 days once the brief is agreed, and why the build costs $1,500 rather than $15,000.
We have been doing this since 2016, for more than 200 New Zealand businesses, from an office at 22 Downer Street in Hutt Central. A first meeting can happen over a coffee in Lower Hutt, at your premises in town, or on a video call if you are further away.
What a small business website in Wellington actually has to do.
A website for a plumber in Upper Hutt or an accountant on The Terrace has one job: turn a search into a phone call, a booking or an enquiry. Everything we design is judged against that.
Awards, parallax effects and a fourteen page brochure do not ring the phone. A fast page that answers the question the searcher asked, shows real people and makes the next step obvious does.
Loads fast on a phone
We test every site on Google PageSpeed before handover. Typical launch scores are 98 on mobile, 99 on desktop and 96 for SEO.
Names the places you work
Pages that mention the suburbs you really cover, from Petone to Porirua, so you have something to rank with outside your own postcode.
Shows your people, not stock
A free photoshoot at your premises on every monthly plan and the Standard build. We have not put a stock photo on a client site since 2020.
Makes the next step obvious
Calls, bookings and enquiry forms wired into a reporting dashboard, so you can see which pages earn the work.
From first call to live site in five steps.
There is no six month discovery phase. You talk to the people building the site, and you approve the work at each stage.
-
1
Discovery call, 15 to 30 minutes
A short call with Andy about what you sell, who buys it and what a good month looks like. If we are not the right fit, we will say so on the call.
-
2
Strategy and brief, 2 to 3 days
The call becomes a written brief: pages, keywords, offers and structure, with a free proposal and fixed monthly pricing.
-
3
AI build and human review
AI assembles the site on our modern stack, then the team refines design, copy and SEO and walks you through the draft. Your feedback drives the revisions.
-
4
Launch
Live with redirects handled, PageSpeed tested to the high 90s, analytics wired and the reporting dashboard switched on from day one.
-
5
Ongoing growth
On the monthly plans, hosting, updates and support carry on. Add blogging, link building or Google Ads whenever the site is ready to be pushed.

Agency, DIY builder, or something in between.
Most small businesses we meet have already tried one of the first two. Here is how the options compare on the things that matter after launch day.
A traditional agency
Usually $5,000 to $15,000 upfront, plus a monthly retainer, and months of waiting before launch.
Content writing is billed by the hour, reporting turns up as a PDF when you ask for one, and there is often an account manager between you and the person doing the work.
A DIY builder
Around $30 to $80 a month, plus your evenings and weekends. You do the building and the writing yourself.
Template sites tend to score poorly on PageSpeed, there is no SEO content or ad management behind them, and nobody picks up the phone when something breaks.
Media Giant
From $250 a month with nothing upfront, or $1,500 upfront, excluding GST. Live in days, scoring in the high 90s on PageSpeed.
Content writing and a photoshoot are included, the reporting dashboard is live from launch, and the person who built your site is the one who answers when you ring.
Already have a website? Keep what it has earned.
A redesign is where a lot of small business sites lose their Google rankings, because old pages disappear without anyone telling Google where they went.
We map your existing URLs before we rebuild, set up proper redirects at launch, and keep the pages that already bring in enquiries. Send us your current site and we will audit it free, including where it stands on PageSpeed today.
Your rankings carried across
Every old URL that matters is redirected to its new home, so search equity follows the content.
Your domain and content stay yours
If you leave after the open term, we help you move. Nothing is held hostage.
A faster site, almost always
Most rebuilds on our stack improve the PageSpeed score dramatically, which helps rankings and conversions at the same time.
Recent websites, and the plan each one is on.
We would rather show the plan a site is on than a headline percentage. Two of these are our own sister businesses, and we say so. The full write-ups come once there is real trading data behind them.
Automate AI, Wellington
Our sister business, a Wellington AI automation agency. The site sets out service tiers and pricing and captures leads.
Built on the Website Only plan: $250 a month, nothing upfront.
Oasis Smiles Dental
A family dental practice in Tamworth, New South Wales, with a booking-led site and same-day emergency triage.
On Website + SEO & Blogging at $850 a month, with the build fee waived.
Rocket Review
Our sister business, a New Zealand Google review platform: marketing site plus customer dashboard.
Build bought outright for $2,500, then $50 a month. More examples on our case studies page.
Web design across the Wellington region.
We are based in Lower Hutt and work across the whole region. The photoshoot happens at your premises, wherever they are.
Lower Hutt and Petone
Our home base on Downer Street. Workshops, trades, showrooms and the professional firms around Hutt Central. The site needs a page for each service you do, with the suburbs you cover named on it, so it matches how people here search.
Wellington city
Lambton Quay, Te Aro, Thorndon and the CBD fringe. Professional services, hospitality and retail, where searches are short, competitive and high value.
Upper Hutt
Trades and home services working the length of the valley. A fast mobile site and a clear call button matter more here than a clever homepage headline.
Porirua and Kāpiti
Growing fast, with plenty of customers who drive into town for work. A site with clear directions, opening hours and a click-to-call button wins the phone search made on that commute.

The written brief takes 2 to 3 days after the first call, and the website is built in 7 days once that brief is agreed. You see a working draft before launch, and nothing goes live until you have signed it off.
No. Our office is at 22 Downer Street in Lower Hutt and a lot of our clients sit between the Kāpiti Coast and the Wairarapa, but we build websites for businesses all over New Zealand. The price is the same wherever you are. The only thing we agree case by case outside the region is the timing of the photoshoot.
Yes, on every monthly plan and on the $2,500 Standard build. It is not included on the $1,500 Entry build. We shoot at your premises anywhere in greater Wellington, and the photos are yours to use on social and in ads as well.
Yes. We map your existing pages, rebuild on our modern stack and set up proper redirects at launch so your rankings carry across. Send us the URL and we will audit the current site free first.
Your domain and your content are yours. Website packages run for an initial 12 months, which covers the cost of the build, then continue on an open term. If you leave after that, we help you transition.
