AI-Powered Digital Marketing in Wellington

Media Giant works with Wellington businesses to deliver high-performance websites, smarter Google Ads, and automated SEO content.

Local knowledge

Built for Wellington businesses. Based here too.

Media Giant is based in Wellington, so this one's home turf. From Lambton Quay professional services to Petone trades and Miramar creative businesses, we know who your customers are and what they search. Local SEO, a fast website and honest ad management go a long way in a city this connected, and we're a coffee, not a phone queue, away.

Local search

How local search actually works in this city.

Most local searches never reach a website. Someone types "plumber near me" or "accountant Thorndon" into a phone, and Google answers with a map and three businesses. That box is the local pack, and for a service business it is the whole game.

Fourth place is a different business to first place, on the same street, with the same reviews and the same prices. What decides the pack is not your homepage. It is your Google Business Profile.

The right primary category

The category your customers actually search, with service areas that match where you actually go.

Opening hours that survive a public holiday

Hours nobody has checked since the last long weekend quietly cost you the call.

Photographs of the real premises

The actual building and the actual team. A stock library fools nobody standing on the footpath.

Reviews you earned, not farmed

A profile that is complete, accurate and reviewed will beat a prettier one nobody has touched since the day it was claimed.

Distance

Distance cuts a particular way in a city this compact.

You can walk the centre of town end to end in twenty minutes, so a customer standing in Te Aro will happily consider a supplier in Thorndon. A business in Karori or Johnsonville chasing a CBD search has to make up the physical distance with relevance and authority.

  1. 1

    Profile

The Google Business Profile goes first, because nothing else can put you in the map pack at all.

  2. 2

    Pages

Then the pages that name the suburbs you actually cover, so a Johnsonville roofer has something to rank with in town.

  3. 3

    Speed

Then the site itself. We hold PageSpeed in the high 90s, because a slow page loses a searcher before it has finished painting.

  4. 4

    Links, then ads

Consistent link building raises the authority that closes the gap, and Google Ads covers the ground while it compounds.

Seasonality

Search demand moves weeks before the phone does.

That gap is the single most useful thing a reporting dashboard can show you, and it is why we watch the searches rather than the tills.

Hospitality and retail

Trade swings with summer, the sevens and WOW season. A compact city centre fills and empties on a schedule you can plan around.

The searches move first. By the time the queue is out the door, the decision to visit was made a fortnight ago.

Trades

Work swings with the weather, and there is plenty of that. A wet fortnight lands in the search data before it lands in the diary.

None of that is visible in a quarterly report. It is obvious in a dashboard you can open on a Tuesday night.

Where we work

The compact centre, and everything around it.

One region, four very different search markets. What ranks a cafe on Cuba Street will not rank a roofer in Upper Hutt, and we do not pretend otherwise.

The CBD, Te Aro and Thorndon

Dense, competitive and full of government agencies and the firms that serve them. Searches here are short and high value. Professional services, hospitality along Courtenay Place and Cuba Street, and retailers who need a map result more than a brochure.

Petone, Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt

Trades, workshops, light industry and showrooms. Customers search by suburb and by job, then ring the first three numbers. Service area setup and review volume matter more here than a clever homepage headline ever will.

Porirua and the Kāpiti Coast

Growing fast, and a long way from the city in Google's eyes even when the drive is short. Businesses here often rank well at home and disappear in town, so the fix is usually pages that earn the second market rather than assume it.

The Wairarapa, and nationwide

Wineries, growers, makers and eCommerce shipping to the whole country. Local search barely applies. What counts is speed, structured product data and Google Shopping, as in our Possum Boutique case study.

Local advantage

Why a local agency beats an Auckland retainer.

Nothing against Auckland. Some very good agencies work out of it. But a small business paying an out of town retainer usually ends up with a junior account manager, a monthly PDF, and a photoshoot that never quite gets booked because it means flying someone down.

The relationship happens on a calendar invite rather than in your shop.

Being based in Wellington changes what is practical, and it shows up in the mundane things long before it shows up in a strategy deck.

Filmed where you actually are

We film your team at your premises, because the drive is twenty minutes rather than an aeroplane.

A photoshoot and content writing come free with every package, because our photographer is a short drive away rather than a line item on an interisland flight.

A coffee, not a conference call

We can walk to a coffee and look at your ad account together on a laptop.

We know a search for a supplier in Newtown behaves differently to the same search in Island Bay, and that a Miramar business lives on different traffic than one on Lambton Quay.

An answer that afternoon

Websites go live in days rather than months, because the person writing your copy can ring you and get an answer that afternoon.

When something breaks at 4pm, you speak to the person who built it.

Table stakes

The rest is table stakes, and we take those seriously too.

We are a Google Partner, we have managed millions in ad spend, and every package comes with the reporting dashboard so you can check our arithmetic.

Prices start at $250 a month excluding GST for a website on the monthly path, and $850 a month for a website with SEO and blogging, which waives the build fee entirely.

Pay monthly with nothing upfront, or buy the build outright

Nothing to pay before we start. Website packages run 12 months, then open term. The full breakdown is on the pricing page.

Common questions

It depends on the category and how close you are to the searcher. A tidy Google Business Profile with real photos and steady reviews can move within weeks. A crowded category, or a suburb address chasing a city centre search, takes months of links and pages. We will tell you which one you are before you spend anything.

Yes, all over New Zealand, and more than 200 businesses since 2016. This page exists because local customers ask for local people. If you are anywhere from Kāpiti to the Wairarapa we will come to you. If you are further afield, everything runs by video call and the work is identical.

If you need the phone to ring next week, ads. They start the day the campaign does, at $250 a month excluding GST to manage. SEO is slower and cheaper per lead once it lands, and it keeps working after you stop paying. Most clients run ads while the organic side builds, then rebalance.

A website on the monthly path is $250 a month, a website with SEO and blogging is $850 a month with the build fee waived, and ads management is $250 a month, all excluding GST. Nothing upfront. Content writing, a photoshoot and the reporting dashboard are included rather than quoted separately. Everything is set out on the pricing page.

Website packages run for an initial twelve months, which covers the cost of the build itself, then continue on an open term. Google Ads management and link building are month to month from the start. We would rather keep you because the dashboard shows the work is paying for itself than because a lawyer says you have to stay.
